Tardy Policy

School starts at 8:00 a.m.  The first entry bell rings at 7:55 a.m., and the tardy bell at 8:05 a.m. Students who arrive after the 8:05 a.m. bell are considered tardy.

Tardies are excused only if the student has written documentation from a parent, dentist, etc. or has other valid reasons for being late.

Almost all tardiness is unnecessary.  However, it is preferred that a student be tardy rather than absent.  Parents are encouraged to have their children to school on time.  It is important both parents and students remember that three tardies equal an absence.  Any excessive unexcused tardiness will most likely result in detention for the child.  Students who are habitually tardy miss valuable instruction time.  It also eliminates students from attendance incentives, i.e., t-shirt drawings and bike drawings.
